Verdict announced in singer Güllü's case! Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter's sentence has been set.
Verdict was delivered in the second hearing of the case concerning the death of artist Güllü. Güllü's daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment. Her closing remarks about her mother drew attention.

The second hearing of the case concerning the death of singer Gül Tut, known in the public as Güllü, who died on September 26, 2025, in Çınarcık district of Yalova, was held at Yalova 1st Heavy Penal Court.
The hearing was attended by the detained defendant Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, Güllü's son Tuğberk Yağız Hamza Gülter, the Ministry of Family and Social Services lawyer, and the parties' attorneys.
The court panel, the defendant Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, accused of killing his mother,"intentional killing against a woman and her family"was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime.
Alleged Messages Sent to Her Mother Surface
During the trial, the lawyer of Kader Tut's sister Gülle drew attention to the messages in the file. The lawyer stated that the suspect sent messages about his mother to someone.“When will (she/he) die?”, “What happens when (you/he) dies?”, and “May (you) die?”He stated that (s)he sent messages in this manner.
The defendant's lawyer also stated that in the audio recordings regarding the incident date, a Roman song was played at home and Gülter's friend Sultan Nur Ulu.“Let's open Malkata and play as such.”He conveyed that (s)he was evaluated on (his/her) statements.
The defendant's lawyer argued that witness Sultan Nur Ulu's statements did not reflect the truth and that his client was defamed. In the defense, claims that Güllü had previously fallen and was intoxicated during the incident were raised, while audio recordings and videos related to the file were submitted to the court.
I Didn't Just Lose My Mother, I Lost the Branch That Will Be Planted in Life
Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, who was promised a final defense before the decision, did not accept the accusations leveled against him.
Gülter, who claimed he did not see his mother's fall, said the following:
If I had seen, I would have tried to hold onto it. Even though we have arguments, we are mother and daughter. I didn't just lose my mother; I lost the branch that will be planted in life.
Gülter, who said he was labeled a 'mother killer' in public, claimed that witness Sultan Nur Ulu defamed him. He also stated that he believed those who gave statements against him spoke out of fear of Ferdi A.
“I will go to the divine court hand in hand with my mother.”
At the end of his defense, Gülter, who said he believes in divine justice, said the following:
“I believe I have been defamed. I believe in divine justice. I know that in the afterlife I will go to the divine court hand in hand with my mother. No matter how much punishment I receive, I just don't want my daughter to bear this burden.”
After the court's decision of aggravated life imprisonment, the parties' lawyers made statements in front of the courthouse.
“Our legal processes will continue.”
In a statement following the decision, Rahmi Çelik, the lawyer of Tuğberk Yağız Hamza Gülter, Güllü's son, said that they were saddened by the incident.
Celik, who noted that the court had imposed a penalty above the upper limit, said that the decision should be respected. Speaking also about the legal process concerning witness Sultan Nur Ulu, Celik said that their application to the prosecutor's office had been rejected, but they would continue their legal efforts.
Celik, reminding that his client has lost his mother and that his sister is being tried,May God not bring anyone into his situation.he said.
Defendant's Attorney: 'We will never give up'
Merve Uçanok, the lawyer of Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, stated that the trial includes appeal and Court of Cassation stages, and announced that they would appeal the decision.
Uçanok, who maintains that his client has been defamed, said he expects the case to be remitted to higher courts. The lawyer added that they would continue their legal fight to prove his client's innocence.
How Did the Investigation into Güllü's Death Begin?
Gül Tut died on 26 September 2025 after falling from the window of the terrace floor of a six‑story building on Vali Akı Street in Harmanlar neighborhood, Çınarcık district, Yalova.
Following the incident, the investigation that was launched led to the arrest of his daughter Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, a friend who was in the same room at the time, Sultan Nur Ulu, and several others. While Gülter was detained, a house‑arrest order was issued against Sultan Nur Ulu. The other suspects were released after prosecutor's proceedings.
Güllü's former fiancée, Kervan E."intentional murder"was taken into custody on the charge. He was released after judicial control measures—an exit ban from abroad and a signing obligation—were applied.
What Does the Indictment Contain?
In the indictment, it was stated that Güllü lost his life by falling from a height of 18.17 meters from a window in a room in his home at 01:26 on the day of the incident.
It was reported that the camera audio recordings related to the incident were examined by Istanbul Technical University, that in the expert report it was evaluated that a young woman said “Let’s meet” just before the fall, and that the voice was concluded to belong to the defendant Gülter.
The indictment alleged that Gülter grabbed his mother by the hips with both hands, severed her feet from the ground, and threw her down the window. Message logs, witness statements, audio analyses, and expert reports were also listed among the evidence in the indictment.
About the Defendantplanned intentional killing of a superiorA request for aggravated life imprisonment had been made for the crime. Regarding Sultan Nur Ulu, however,false testimonyA separate case had been opened on the grounds of a request for imprisonment ranging from 2 to 4 years.
