Claimed U.S. Control Over the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump, in remarks about the military clashes with Iran, compared American casualties to those of the Vietnam War. Trump, who highlighted the military superiority he claimed to have over Iran, asserted that the United States had full control over the Strait of Hormuz.

On September 4, Trump said that 18 U.S. soldiers had lost their lives in the clashes with Iran. He recalled that thousands of American soldiers died in the Vietnam War, comparing the casualty figures of the two conflicts.

In another statement on September 26, Trump maintained that the Strait of Hormuz was entirely under U.S. control, noting that 29 vessels had passed through the strait the previous night. He also described the U.S. naval blockade as one of the most powerful military operations carried out to date.

New Military Operation Message From Trump to Iran

Trump said that Iran has occasionally carried out attacks with rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles, and argued that U.S. forces had largely neutralized these threats.

Trump, who claims that the Tehran administration has been harming Americans for years, traced the start of the conflicts with Iran back to 1979.

Trump, who also kept the U.S. military options against Iran on the agenda, said that if necessary they could resort to more extensive operations. The U.S. President, who suggested that Iran's reconstruction could take about 25 years, said the Washington administration is prepared for possible new developments.

Claim of a Major Agreement for Russia and Ukraine

Trump also shared his expectations for ending the Russia‑Ukraine war alongside his remarks about Iran. Trump said he had met with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the White House on November 5, and that a significant agreement to resolve the war could soon come to the fore.

Trump, who said the agreement might not cover only Ukraine, spoke of a broad settlement that could encompass all of Europe. He claimed that a large agreement that would satisfy everyone was being worked on.

New Talks Expected in U.S. Mediation

It is planned that representatives of Russia and Ukraine will meet on 10-11 November in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, under U.S. mediation.

Trump argued that the war was being brought to an end, while noting that both sides had suffered heavy human losses. Describing the scale of the fighting as a great lake of blood, the U.S. President said that a comprehensive agreement would bring the war to an end.
