Israel protest at the September 11 Memorial site
During the 25th anniversary commemoration of the September 11 attacks in New York, a pro-Palestinian protest was organized near Ground Zero.

A pro‑Palestinian group staged a protest near Ground Zero, where the September 11 memorial ceremony was held.

During the protest, a person in a firefighter uniform was seen reacting to a protester holding the Palestinian flag and wearing an Elmo costume.
The individual identified as a firefighter accused the protester of being anti‑American and demanded that he leave the area. During the exchange, he also made remarks about former President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez.

Later footage captured someone shouting, "Jews are committing genocide."
FDNY: Not our personnel.
The New York Fire Department (FDNY) issued a statement regarding the uniformed individual in the footage.
FDNY said the person seemed to belong to another fire department and that FDNY is neither a current nor a former member.
