25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks: Victims were commemorated in the United States
On the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the United States honored those who lost their lives with a ceremony held at Zero Point in New York. While the names of the victims were read, their relatives placed flowers at the memorial site.
The memorial ceremony held at the Zero Point where the destroyed Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York began in the morning hours.
Victims' relatives and participants gathered around the memorial pools at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. During the ceremony, the names of those who lost their lives in the attacks were read one by one, and at the critical moments of the attacks, a moment of silence was observed.
Flowers were laid in the sections of the memorial area that contain photographs and names of the deceased.
Memorial events were organized nationwide.
Within the 25th anniversary of September 11, ceremonies were also held in various U.S. cities.

The National September 11 Memorial and Museum commemorates the 2,977 people who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks and the six who died in the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center.
The memorial pools in New York sit directly above the area where the Twin Towers were destroyed in the attacks.
