30 years living in ABD, Turkish woman compared Türkiye with Amerika: We are truly poor psychologically and physiologically.

A Turkish woman who has lived in the United States for more than 30 years made remarks on the living standards between Turkey and America in a video posted from her social media account.

The woman, who said she was in South Carolina, stated that she rented a house in a neighborhood where people of the average income group live, via Airbnb. The woman, who drew attention to the area's horizontal architecture, green spaces, and cars in front of the houses, expressed her surprise especially when she saw a car parked in front of a house.

"We Are Truly Poor Psychologically and Physiologically"

The woman, who said she had to confront some realities during her time in the United States, made a striking assessment about living conditions in Turkey.

The woman, noting that the facilities people have in the area where she lives make her reflect, said that although she spent her childhood in a village and there was a beautiful reservoir lake in the place where she grew up, no one in the village had a boat.

“There is Still No Boat in Our Village”

The woman, drawing attention to Turkey's purchasing power through the example of a boat, said the following:

“I grew up in a village, and there was a very beautiful reservoir lake where I grew up, but there is still no boat in our village. In other words, no one has a boat.”

The woman, noting that the neighborhood where she lives in the U.S. is an average residential area, claimed that the vehicles parked in front of houses point to a significant purchasing power when considering the prices in Turkey.

Physiological Poverty Happens Like This

The woman described the lack of accessibility of some products and facilities for broad segments of society in Turkey asphysiological povertyshe characterized it as.

She said:

Now this is where ordinary people live. For example, I look at the cars in front of people's doors. So when you think about the price of these cars in Turkey, when you index purchasing power, they already belong to a certain group. So it's not accessible to everyone. That's physiological poverty.

The woman, who observed city planning in the United States, as well as people's purchasing power and the calmness in their daily lives, emphasized that this does not mean there are no problems in America.

“There Are Bad Things Everywhere”

The woman, who said she was accused of being an America fan, said that her social media account also contains criticisms directed at the United States.

Woman,“Then when I talk about these, they tell me that you are also an American fan. You praise the United States. You never say bad things. No. Come look at my page... I also criticize things. There are negative things too.”She used those expressions.

The woman, who said she also prepares content about homelessness in ABD, stated that the purpose of her assessments is not to wholly praise America, but to draw attention to the differences in living standards and purchasing power between the two countries.
