With the end of summer months in England, a call has been made for citizens to be cautious of wasps. The England Wasp Control Association (BPCA), especially""drunken wasps""has issued a warning."

According to BPCA's statement, worker wasps play an important role in feeding the larvae in their nests throughout the summer. As summer draws to a close, however, as the need to feed the larvae diminishes, they begin to turn to sugary foods that can meet their energy needs.

They are turning to fermented fruits.

It has been indicated that worker wasps have shown greater interest in overripe and fermented fruits at the end of summer.

It was recorded that food and beverages left exposed could attract flies, and that alcohol in fermented substances might influence the flies' behavior.

That is why, among the public, sluggish flies are referred to asdrunken flyis used.

Sluggish flies may become more aggressive.

According to BPCA, feeding on fermented and sugary foods can not only cause sluggishness but also lead to behavioral changes in flies.

It was noted that wasps in this situation could become more aggressive and the risk of stinging humans could increase.

Experts advise not to leave food and drinks out in the open, especially in late summer, and to exercise caution in areas where wasps are present.

Do Not Hit Wasps, Do Not Disturb Their Nests

According to a story in Coventry Observe, citizens were asked not to hit insects when they encounter wasps.

Experts also emphasized that wasp nests must not be disturbed under any circumstances. It was noted that a disturbed colony could quickly become defensive and more aggressive.

Therefore, citizens were advised to avoid sudden movements when trying to drive wasps away and especially not to approach nests.
