According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), units were dispatched to the area on Saturday just before 20:30 after a report of a motionless person on the road. Bus Continued on Its Path

Police sources said the B44 bus continued northward along Nostrand Avenue after the incident. It was reported that the driver was unaware of the collision and therefore kept moving without stopping. Consequently, the incident is being investigated by the police as a hit‑and‑run case.

Investigating Whether the Driver Noticed

It was reported that the 43‑year‑old woman was driving the bus during the incident. NYPD said it did not notice that the driver had struck a pedestrian. However, while the investigation continues, it was stated that the full circumstances of the crash have not yet been clarified.

Died in Hospital

The 58‑year‑old man, taken to hospital by medical teams after the crash, was treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. However, despite the interventions, he could not be saved.

Identity Not Yet Revealed

Police said it would disclose the identity of the deceased after informing the family. As of Sunday, no arrests or detentions related to the incident had been made.

After the crash, a section of Nostrand Avenue was closed to traffic for a time, while NYPD's Collision Investigation Unit conducted work to determine how the incident occurred. An explanation was requested from the MTA and is expected.
