Israel Tension in Istanbul! Mall Atmosphere Turns Chaotic
At Istanbul's famous shopping mall, İstinyePark, a dual‑citizen woman alleged to have provided medical services to Israeli soldiers in Turkey was confronted by a protest of pro‑Palestinian activists. While security forces intervened in the rapidly escalating tension, the incident also drew Israel's response.

The Istanbuls Sarıyer district's IstinyePark Shopping Center became the scene of a notable protest on Sunday, October 18. Klodya Medina Halfon, who is said to hold both Turkish and Israeli citizenship, faced a backlash from a pro‑Palestinian group after allegedly mediating health services for Israeli soldiers fighting in Gaza in Turkey.

The verbal dispute that began in the shopping center quickly escalated, and the events also drew wide attention on social media.
Tense Moments at the Mall! Security Teams Intervene
According to the claim, an activist group of about 20‑25 people protested against Klodya Medina Halfon whom they met in the shopping center. A verbal dispute erupted between Halfon and protesters who alleged that she had helped provide health and accommodation services to Israeli soldiers in Turkey.
As tensions rose, the mall's security staff intervened. While police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, it was reported that the mall was evacuated as a precaution.
Halfon was escorted out of the mall by security personnel.

Claim of Treatment for Israeli Soldiers in Turkey
At the center of the protest, allegations state that Klodya Medina Halfon facilitated the provision of health services to Israeli tourists in Turkey, and that some Israeli soldiers fighting in the Gaza war also benefited from these services.
Activists claim that Halfon helped Israeli military personnel with treatment and accommodation in Turkey, while also asserting that his children serve in the Israeli army.
On the other hand, it is noted that the allegations have not been verified by independent sources and that there is no evidence that Halfon engaged in any unlawful activity.
It was reported that a criminal complaint was filed with the prosecutor's office.
After the incident, information that emerged stated that on 16 October, the 7 October Movement filed a criminal complaint against Klodya Medina Halfon with the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office.
It was stated that the criminal complaint is linked to the services allegedly provided to Israeli soldiers in Turkey.
However, filing the complaint does not mean that the allegations have been verified or that the individual has definitively committed a crime.
Israel's reaction to the protest in Turkey.
After footage of the incident in Istanbul spread on social media, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement.
In a statement issued on 19 October, it was said that while condemning the protest against a Turkish-Israeli citizen, the events that unfolded were unacceptable.
Thus, the dispute that began at a shopping mall in Istanbul was also brought to the agenda of the Turkish and Israeli press.
Why It Sparked Debate on Social Media
With the sharing of footage related to the protest, the incident prompted varied reactions on social media.
One segment argued that the allegations that Israeli soldiers fighting in Gaza were being provided services in Turkey should be investigated, while another segment criticized the targeting of a person in a shopping mall who had no finalized judicial ruling.
The incident has brought a new debate to the fore regarding both Turkey‑Israel relations and the social repercussions of the war in Gaza within Turkey.
