Sad News from Serhat Kılıç: Found Dead at Home

Serhat Kılıç, a well‑known figure in Turkish television, cinema, and theatre, was found dead in his home in Kağıthane, Istanbul. The lifeless body of the 51‑year‑old actor was discovered by his girlfriend, Özlem E., who had not heard from him for some time. His body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death.

The incident occurred on Saturday, September 5, around 5:00 p.m., in the Nurtepe neighbourhood of Kağıthane district, Istanbul.

According to the information obtained, Özlem E., Serhat Kılıç’s girlfriend who had not heard from him since Thursday, went to the actor’s home in concern. Finding the door locked, she used the key she had and entered, finding Kılıç motionless on the single‑seat sofa in the living room.

Health Teams Determine Death

Noticing that Kılıç was not breathing and his body was cold, Özlem E. reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Upon examination, the medical teams confirmed that the famous actor had died.

It was reported that Özlem E., who gave information to the police, said that Kılıç has lymphoma and that she has not heard from him since Thursday.

Death Recorded as 'Suspected'

Police teams reported that no cuts, wounds or bruises were found in the initial examination at the home and on Kılıç's lifeless body.

However, it was alleged that drugs were found during the home examination. Kılıç's death was recorded as a 'suspected death' until the exact cause was determined, and an investigation into the incident was launched.

Kılıç began his professional theatre career at Ankara Art Theatre, appearing on stage in Ariel Dorfman's play 'Kayıplar (Dullar)' directed by Rutkay Aziz.
