Access to Change.org has been blocked in Turkey

Access to Change.org, one of the world’s most widely used online petition platforms, has been blocked in Turkey.

According to information on the website of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), the access ban was decided on June 17th.

BTK records include the statement: ‘Change.org has been blocked from access as a result of a ruling by the Kula District Criminal Court dated June 17, 2026 and numbered 2026/337 D.İş.’

The reason for the decision has not been disclosed.

Following the decision, access to the platform could not be established from Turkey.

As of yet, no official statement has been made by the relevant authorities regarding the reason for the access ban.
